  1. To advance knowledge of small animal medicine by postgraduate study.

  2. To promote closer relationships among veterinarians.

  3. To promote better veterinary services.

The District of Columbia Academy of Veterinary Medicine was established in 1957 to provide high quality continuing education for the graduate veterinarian.

To that end, we engage in-demand speakers who are leaders in their field to lecture each month on diverse topics for our 650 members. The DC Academy offers the latest veterinary knowledge in a friendly atmosphere where colleagues gather to share ideas. The monthly meetings are an excellent way to keep updated on the most current information regarding new medications, procedures, and testing methods.
